FAQ about Temperature and Controller

1.I have set the PHYMAT pad temperature to 50-70°C and have covered it with a thick blanket or your mat protect cover as you recommend, but I notice that the temperature has increased to 70°C on its own. It also fluctuates between 50 and 70°C, is this normal
function?

It is normal for the temperature to fluctuate slightly when the mat is in the same state.
Our mat is equipped with a smart thermostat controller. It works so that the heating area of the mat warms up to a little higher level and then stops to allow the temperature to go down. When the mat cools to 5-10°C lower than the set level, it resumes again to achieve a little higher than the set level and so on. This is a standard function of thermostat-type devices.

If you change the state of the mat’s thermal insulation, for example, if you stand up from the mat or remove the blanket and protector and let it sit uncovered for 5 minutes, the temperature may drop 20°C because the hot crystals’ heat will dissipate quickly.

They will get warm to the touch, and even though the temperature indicated on the controller will go up to 65°C again, the mat will be only warm to touch unless you cover or lay on it again.

2.When I plug in my mat controller into the wall socket it shows OFF or —- and does not work, is it faulty?

Please always connect the controller to the mat first(There is a connection display in the manual), And confirm that the switch of the controller is in the OFF state, and only after this to the socket; otherwise, it may go into safety mode until you reconnect itproperly.

If reconnection does not help, please contact us , and we will replace the controller fast and free.We provide a free replacement service for the controller within 1 year from the date of purchaseIf your warranty expired, you could buy a replacement controller.

We used different types of connectors, upgrading the quality during the last couple of years, If you need to replace the controller within the warranty period, please send us a photo of your mat controllar. So that we can replace the correct controller for you

3.The heating indicator seems to come on and off. Why isn’t this consistently on ?
PHYMAT heating pad is equipped with a smart constant temperature controller. The mat’s electrical heating system does not work all the time; it shuts off when the desired temperature is reached. When the mat cools down or crystals lose heat (if you suddenly stand up from the mat), the heating system will auto resume.

4.Does the controller display the current temperature or the selected temperature?

When you turn ON the controller and rotate the temperature dial, or adjust heat with the temperature button, the controller display will display the selected temperature for several seconds, then reverts back to displaying the current temperature of the mat.

The temperature numbers will go up if the mat is heating. The temperature numbers will go down if the mat is cooling down(if you stand up from the mat or remove the blanket and protector and let it sit uncovered for 5 minutes, the temperature may drop 20°C because
the hot crystals’ heat will dissipate quickly).

When you turn OFF the controller, please remember to rotate the temperature dial to the lowest position first. Otherwise when you try to turn ON the controller the next time if will not go ON until you set the dial to the lowest position (with some of controller models).

Please remmber that the timer needs to be activated for the mat to heat up, and when the time setting elapses it will automatically stop heating.

5.How to cover the mat for accelerate pre-heating
To accelerate pre-heating of the mat, please use only the covers included in the mat set or towels or blankets of not too thick (max 1-inch layer) cover the mat completely .

Please Note: it is vital that you cover the mat completely while preheating it.

If you cover the mat only partially or put any solid objects on top of the heating mat, the temperature sensors positioned in the different layers of the mat around all the surface will report different and controversial measurements to the central controller.
Finally, the controller may lose calibration and start to work incorrectly or malfunction.
If you cover the mat with non-permeable materials like a rubber, camp, or foam mat, the
heating elements will gradually overheat. Finally, the overheat protection will work malfunction, and the mat might overheat and get broken or even catch fire.
